No. North Horizon is a mutual fund distributor and a life insurance advisor, not a SEBI-registered investment adviser. We do not provide investment advisory services and do not charge advisory fees. Where a decision needs a registered adviser, tax professional or lawyer, we say so.

Yes. North Horizon is an appointed life advisor for HDFC Life (Advisor Code 02213675). Insurance is treated as protection for the people who depend on you, not as an investment, so we start with what needs protecting before discussing any policy.

How do you get paid?

Educational content on this site is free. Where we distribute a mutual fund, the asset management company may pay commission in line with AMFI regulations and the scheme's disclosures. We do not rebate or pass back commission to investors. Where we facilitate a life insurance policy, the insurer may pay commission in line with applicable regulations. No, because that question has no universal answer. There is only an investment that may or may not be appropriate for a particular person, goal, time horizon and risk profile. We will explain the options, the trade-offs and the reasoning, and you decide.

Can you guarantee returns?

Accepted Answer

No. Nobody can. Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks and past performance is not indicative of future results. Any figure you see in a calculator on this site is an illustration based on assumptions you enter.

How often are things reviewed?

On a schedule agreed at the start — typically annually, and whenever your circumstances change materially. Reviews are not triggered by headlines, and a review does not automatically mean a change.

Do I need a large amount to start?

No. What matters more than the amount is the order of things: a buffer for emergencies, cover for the people who depend on you, then investing towards named goals. Many mutual fund schemes accept small monthly contributions.
