Risk profile
Risk is not one number. Your financial capacity, the return your goals require and your tolerance for market fluctuations are different things. A sensible investment decision considers all three.
Risk Capacity
How much investment risk your financial situation can reasonably absorb without disrupting your essential goals, commitments or financial security.
Risk Requirement
How much return your goals may require. Sometimes the return you need is lower than the level of risk you were considering taking.
Risk Tolerance
How comfortable you are with investment fluctuations and uncertainty — particularly when markets fall.
Time Horizon
How long your money can remain invested before you are likely to need it.

A few details, then the questions
Your answers are saved with these details so your risk profile can be discussed with you later if you want that. We do not sell or share them, and we do not send marketing you have not asked for.
Common questions
Capacity is how much risk your finances can absorb — income stability, dependants, horizon and reserves. Tolerance is how much volatility you can live through without abandoning the plan. They are frequently different, and the lower of the two usually governs.
